Introduction
I haven’t introduced myself over the last few years that I have been blogging. Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Alissa Dedic. As my home page and about me page say, I am a Christian editor and writer.
Who am I as an Editor?
As an editor, I help Christian writers present professionally edited books for publication so they can rest assured their messages reach their audiences. My goal is to apply the standards in the Chicago Manual of Style along side biblically based content. I desire to safeguard the integrity of an author’s biblically based teaching and their use of commas. For more information about my editing services, please see my services page.
Who Am I as a Writer?
I have been posting writing tips in the series The Writers Guide to Thrive, shared a few devotionals, and a lot of poetry. Yes, the rest of my poems from the November 2025 Poem a Day challenge with be posted soon. Keep an eye out. I’ve had my first experience with book publishing. In December 2025, Dear Beloved Scribe was released. I am one of fifty-two contributing authors in this devotional anthology for Christian women writers. I am working through some tech glitches. My store page with be available soon. In the meantime, I sold out of books. I will more next week. Do you want a copy or know a Christian woman who would be inspired by this book? Email me at elkcreekcontent@gamil.com to join the waitlist.
I have an English degree with an emphasis in creative writing and a public relations minor. I started out my college experience at the University of Northwestern in Saint Paul, MN. I was there for two years. I took English classes and several Bible classes. I had several detours from writing, which I’ll most likely talk about in the future. I’ve been writing for years–off and on– so what got be back into pursuing writing more seriously. Let me tell you about it.
Have you ever been cruising through life and then been detoured? I know I have experienced this sort of disorientation more than once in my life. Over the last two years, a series of events has left me lost, disoriented and detoured. But this time around it is building my faith in Jesus stronger than ever. I write to help Christians address doubts and fears. My goal is to provide content that offers biblically based solutions for when we face doubts and fears.
This year I will be exploring faith. I pray this is a place that feeds and builds faith in Jesus. Thank you for following along as I learn along side you. We will be exploring what faith is and how to strengthen it.
Looking forward to connecting with you all.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse that has helped build your faith? Is there a book that you have read that helped your faith? Isaiah 41:10 is a verse that has helped build my faith. I am reading several Christian books right now that address doubts, fears and anxiety. My books that have been helpful are tied. Blessed are the Spiraling by Levi Lusko is one that has been helpful. The books in the Praying with the Bible Series by my friend R. A. Sweeney have also been super helpful. Yes, I edited those. A lot of times the editor teaches the writer about commas and that sort of thing, but the writer teaches the editor about growing faith and healthy habits. I would love to hear about Bible verses and books that have helped build your faith in the comments.
