My editing services will give you the confidence that your manuscript is ready for publication. I can also help you with any writing issues that occur in your work in progress. I offer nonfiction and fiction book editing for Christian authors and content writing services. I wish to meet the various needs of writers and content creators. I create customized editing and writing packages for each client. I offer a complimentary sample edit for new clients.
Editing
I offer developmental editing. This is a structural edit of your manuscript. During this editing process, I will help you revise your draft into the final copy. For fiction, I will help you address the time line or outline, plot, character development and dialogue just to name a few elements. For nonfiction, I will help you address outline, key takeaways, the story arc of where you or the reader is starting and where you are guiding to them just to name a few elements.
I offer line editing. This is a mechanical editing process. I will look at the grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language usage needs of your manuscript as well compliance with stylebook recommendations.
I offer content editing. This is an edit of the content of a manuscript. Most editors call this copyediting. During this editing process, I will look at the accuracy, conciseness, clarity, and consistency of the manuscript.
I offer basic formatting for manuscripts to make sure they follow the guidelines set out in the appropriate industry stylebook.
Editing services are $0.03–$0.05 per word count. Please look over my portfolio to see the types of books I have edited and proofread in the past.
I offer a complementary 30-minute consultation call to go over the specific needs of your project: your vision for your manuscript, what writing stage your manuscript is in, editing process timeline and the editing process investment.
Proofreading
I offer a basic proofreading package that includes a read through the manuscript to look for any grammar, punctuation, or spelling errors before the manuscript is submitted for publication. This is the final step in the editing process. Proofreading services are $0.02 to $0.03 per word count.
One-on-One Coaching
I offer one-on-one coaching for works in progress. One-on-one coaching is a workshop process where I assist writers with specific writings issues such as citing sources, dialogue punctuation, and assisting with query letters and book proposals. One-on-one coaching starts at $25/hour and can cost up to $70/hour. Some writers choose to participate in one-on-one coaching for pitching and querying publishers and literary agents. After a complimentary 30-minute consultation, I create customized package for clients depending upon their needs.
Manuscript Assessment/Evaluation
I offer manuscript assessments or evaluations. This is the process of reading through a manuscript after authors have done everything in their ability to prepare a manuscript for editing process. I will make notes as I read and then offer my suggestions for what type of editing the individual manuscript requires to begin the editing process. Manuscript assessments/evaluations are $0.015 per word count.
Writing
I offer writing services for content creators who are looking for guest bloggers or freelance content writers. Please look over my portfolio to see examples of my writing. Writing packages include research and two revision passes. Writing packages are $0.21–$0.50 per word count.
