The writing prompt for this poem was to write a tense poem. There were no instructions for poetic form. I choose a short free verse form.
In between by Alissa Dedic
In between the already but not yet,
pulled from what was to what will be.
Decisions to say yes led to saying no.
A fuzzy reflection of what I will be.
Pushed away from the familiar
I wonder what will become of me
Drawn tight my soul cries out, “Trust.”
Store treasures beyond the reach of rust.
