Poem a Day: Day 4

Another day of American Haiku. Yesterday I chose to write a Kelly Lune. Today I am trying out a Collom Lune and a Kelly Lune combined to make a poem.

The Collom Lune has three lines and 11 words: three words in the first line, five words in the second line and three words in the third line. There are no requirements for rhyming or counting syllables.

The Kelly Lune has three lines and 13 syllables. The first line has five syllables, the second line has three syllables and the third line has five syllables. There is no requirement for rhyming.

The prompt was an unexpected mess.

Compass

By Alissa Dedic

Beneath the rubble

among dusty plans and dreams

is a compass.

Which way do I go?

Have no fear

compass points the way.
